This competition is open to young people, between 15 and 25 years of age, who are nationals of a European Union Member State. The aim is to propose a scenario for a video clip of a maximum length of 60 seconds, promoting prevention of infection by the HIV virus responsible for AIDS. The concept for the clip must be in a style and language appropriate for young Europeans of 15 to 25 years of age.
The competition is open from 31 October to 31 December 2006. A jury, made up of representatives from European and national AIDS prevention associations and institutions, will choose the winning scenario by 31 March 2007, at the latest.
A maximum amount of €40000 will be allocated by the European Commission for the making of a clip based on the winning scenario. The European Commission reserves the right to decide on the best means of production for the clip. This must be in accordance with Community financing regulations. The clip will be distributed free of charge and can be used by any person or organisation with the goal of preventing HIV infection.
The author of the winning scenario will be accredited in any form of communication linked to the clip and will be invited to meet the Commissioner and the national competent authorities.
The scenario should be presented in the form of a text, in English, of a maximum length of two pages. It should be posted on the "Aids – remember me?" website between 31 October and 31 December 2006. The winner will receive personal notification of the outcome, which will be published on the website of the Health and Consumer Protection Directorate General by 31 March 2007, at the latest.
The winner retains the intellectual property rights over the scenario and has the right to refuse the production options proposed by the Commission. In the event that (s)he accepts, these rights will be transferred, free of charge, to the Commission for any further diffusion.
All scenarios put forward remain the intellectual property of their author. Persons wishing to use any particular scenario must contact the webmaster of the site in order to be placed in contact with the author. All authors retain the right to withdraw their scenario from the competition at any moment.
